Historically, maize production in Ecuador reached an all time high of 1,874 kt in 2015 and an all time low of 129 kt in 1964. When compared to Ecuador's main peers, maize production in Brazil amounted to 88,462 kt, 1,591 kt in Colombia, 135 kt in Panama and 1,582 kt in Peru in 2021.
