Historically, maize production in Mozambique reached an all time high of 2,355 kt in 2012 and an all time low of 132 kt in 1992. When compared to Mozambique's main peers, maize production in Malawi amounted to 4,581 kt, 16,871 kt in South Africa, 7,039 kt in Tanzania and 3,620 kt in Zambia in 2021.
