Historically, maize production in Afghanistan reached an all time high of 800 kt in 1976 and an all time low of 107 kt in 2018. When compared to Afghanistan's main peers, maize production in Iran amounted to 320 kt, 10,635 kt in Pakistan, 240 kt in Tajikistan and 7.70 kt in Turkmenistan in 2021.
