Madeta, a.s. is a Czech Republic-based milk producer and one of the largest food processors in the country. The Company processes more than 500 mil litres of milk a year in its six plants, or a fifth of the Czech Republic's total production
The Company's sales have been falling since 2004. In 2012, they reached CZK 5.1 bil, 13% down compared to the average seen in the last five years.
On the other hand, Madeta is decently profitable (average ROE of 12.4% in 2008-2012) and has reduced its indebtedness significantly (to 43% as % of equity at the end of 2012).
