Historically, killed in road traffic accidents in Slovakia reached an all time high of 819 persons in 1998 and an all time low of 251 persons in 2013. When compared to Slovakia's main peers, killed in road traffic accidents in Austria amounted to 432 persons, 611 persons in Czech Republic, 607 persons in Hungary and 3,026 persons in Poland in 2016.
