Historically, expenditure of international tourism as a percentage of total imports in Moldova reached an all time high of 9.65% in 2000 and an all time low of 5.12% in 2020. When compared to Moldova's main peers, expenditure of international tourism as a percentage of total imports in Bulgaria amounted to 3.31%, 3.34% in Romania, 3.54% in Russia and 7.65% in Ukraine in 2020.
