Historically, interest rate on bank loans in Costa Rica reached an all time high of 38.9% in 1991 and an all time low of 5.51% in 2021. When compared to Costa Rica's main peers, interest rate on bank loans in Guatemala amounted to 12.2%, 16.0% in Honduras, 9.62% in Nicaragua and 6.94% in Panama in 2021.
