Interest rate on bank deposits fell 37.8% to 1.61% in Costa Rica in 2021, according to the National Central Bank.
Historically, interest rate on bank deposits in Costa Rica reached an all time high of 27.3% in 1991 and an all time low of 1.21% in 2016. When compared to Costa Rica's main peers, interest rate on bank deposits in Guatemala amounted to 4.14%, 5.80% in Honduras, 1.49% in Nicaragua and 1.76% in Panama in 2021.
