Interest rate on bank deposits fell 20.1% to 1.56% in Malaysia in 2021, according to the National Central Bank.
Historically, interest rate on bank deposits in Malaysia reached an all time high of 9.75% in 1982 and an all time low of 1.56% in 2021. When compared to Malaysia's main peers, interest rate on bank deposits in Cambodia amounted to 1.40%, 0.122% in Singapore, 0.407% in Thailand and 3.38% in Vietnam in 2021.
