Historically, interest rate on bank deposits in Panama reached an all time high of 8.49% in 1989 and an all time low of 1.72% in 2016. When compared to Panama's main peers, interest rate on bank deposits in Colombia amounted to 2.07%, 1.61% in Costa Rica, 5.80% in Honduras and 1.49% in Nicaragua in 2021.
