Imports of services as a part of balance of payment rose 42.6% to USD 1.56 bil in Nepal in 2021, according to the National Statistical Office.
Historically, imports of services as a part of balance of payment in Nepal reached an all time high of USD 1.78 bil in 2018 and an all time low of USD 0.043 bil in 1976. When compared to Nepal's main peers, imports of services as a part of balance of payment in Bangladesh amounted to USD 10.9 bil, USD 0.136 bil in Bhutan, USD 438 bil in China and USD 138 bil in India in 2021.
Nepal has been ranked 105th within the group of 140 countries we follow in terms of imports of services as a part of balance of payment, 29 places above the position seen 10 years ago.
