Hypoteční Banka is the Czech Republic's largest mortgage lender with a share of over 25%. Despite being a 100% subsidiary of ČSOB, Hypoteční has kept its distinctive brand name and relatively high level of independence.
The Bank sold nearly 23,000 of mortgage loans in 2012 getting close to its record year 2009, when 23,416 contracts have been signed. The average size of a mortgage loan granted reached CZK 1.639 mil in 2012 (or USD 84,043).
