HSBC Bank Turkey's non-performing loans reached 5.46% of total loans at the end of 2017, down from 9.45% compared to the previous year. Historically, the NPL ratio hit an all time high of 11.0% in 2009 and an all time low of 1.59% in 2004.
Provision coverage amounted to 68.0% at the end of 2017, down from 68.6% compared to a year earlier.
The bank created loan loss provisions worth of 2.27% of average loans in 2017. That's compared to 3.00% of loans the bank put aside to its cost on average in the last five years.
