Based on a comparison of 34 countries in 2017, USA ranked the highest in expenditure on pharmaceuticals per capita in PPP prices with USD 1,208 followed by Switzerland and Japan. On the other end of the scale was Costa Rica with USD 171, Mexico with USD 232 and Denmark with USD 335.
