Gypsum and plaster production fell 15.1% to 4,500 kt in Russia in 2015, according to the National Statistical Office.

Historically, gypsum and plaster production in Russia reached an all time high of 5,300 kt in 2014 and an all time low of 559 kt in 1997. When compared to Russia's main peers, gypsum and plaster production in China amounted to 132,000 kt, 4,200 kt in Germany, 5,000 kt in Japan and 11,500 kt in USA in 2015.
