Historically, foreign trade in services as a share of GDP in Malaysia reached an all time high of 34.1% in 1998 and an all time low of 11.1% in 1976. When compared to Malaysia's main peers, foreign trade in services as a share of GDP in Cambodia amounted to 10.2%, 114% in Singapore, 17.9% in Thailand and 6.30% in Vietnam in 2021.
Malaysia has been ranked 72nd within the group of 139 countries we follow in terms of foreign trade in services as a share of GDP, 36 places below the position seen 10 years ago.
