Foreign trade as a share of GDP rose 10.0% to 161% in Slovenia in 2021, according to the National Statistical Office.
Historically, foreign trade as a share of GDP in Slovenia reached an all time high of 161% in 2018 and an all time low of 92.5% in 1999. When compared to Slovenia's main peers, foreign trade as a share of GDP in Austria amounted to 111%, 104% in Croatia, 163% in Hungary and 63.0% in Italy in 2021.
