Historically, distillate fuel oil consumption in Ethiopia reached an all time high of 35.3 '000 bpd in 2015 and an all time low of 4.59 '000 bpd in 1994. When compared to Ethiopia's main peers, distillate fuel oil consumption in Eritrea amounted to 1.61 '000 bpd, 36.3 '000 bpd in Kenya, 2.37 '000 bpd in Somalia and 43.9 '000 bpd in Sudan in 2015.
