Diesel passenger cars as a percentage of total cars rose 3.29% to 32.2% in Germany in 2015, according to the National Statistical Office.

Historically, diesel passenger cars as a percentage of total cars in Germany reached an all time high of 32.2% in 2015 and an all time low of 13.1% in 1993. When compared to Germany's main peers, diesel passenger cars as a percentage of total cars in Austria amounted to 56.9%, 61.9% in Belgium, 70.5% in France and 29.4% in Poland in 2015.
