Historically, currant production in Germany reached an all time high of 173,658 tonnes in 1988 and an all time low of 8,808 tonnes in 2007. When compared to Germany's main peers, currant production in Austria amounted to 4,080 tonnes, 800 tonnes in Belgium, 10,000 tonnes in France and 152,000 tonnes in Poland in 2021.
