Historically, currant production in Austria reached an all time high of 33,345 tonnes in 1975 and an all time low of 1,842 tonnes in 2016. When compared to Austria's main peers, currant production in Germany amounted to 13,770 tonnes, 3,850 tonnes in Hungary, 1,100 tonnes in Italy and 60.0 tonnes in Switzerland in 2021.
