Historically, cereal production in Syria reached an all time high of 6,921 kt in 2001 and an all time low of 726 kt in 1973. When compared to Syria's main peers, cereal production in Iraq amounted to 6,073 kt, 98.4 kt in Jordan, 181 kt in Lebanon and 36,449 kt in Turkey in 2015.
