Historically, bank payment card penetration in Hungary reached an all time high of 93.8% in 2017 and an all time low of 7.10% in 1995. When compared to Hungary's main peers, bank payment card penetration in Austria amounted to 155%, 100% in Czech Republic, 101% in Poland and 96.3% in Slovakia in 2017.
