Bank of China's customer loan growth reached 8.19% in 2018, down from 9.33% compared to the previous year. Historically, the bank’s loans growth reached an all time high of 50.4% in 2009 and an all time low of 3.82% in 2005. In the last decade, the average annual loan growth amounted to 13.7%.

On the other hand, bank's customer deposit growth amounted to 8.97% at the end of 2018, up from 5.55% when compared to the previous year. Historically, the bank’s deposit growth reached an all time high of 24.9% in 2009 and an all time low of 4.04% in 2012. In the last decade, the average annual loan growth amounted to 10.9%.

At the end of 2018, Bank of China's loans accounted for 77.4% of total deposits and 54.1% of total assets.
