Bank liquid assets as a share of short-term liabilities rose 6.88% yoy to 35.0% in Macedonia in 2Q2024, according to the National Central Bank. This is 1.60% less than in the previous quarter.
Historically, bank liquid assets as a share of short-term liabilities in Macedonia reached an all time high of 56.0% in 3Q2014 and an all time low of 29.2% in 1Q2009. When compared to Macedonia's main peers, bank liquid assets as a share of short-term liabilities in Albania amounted to 41.0%, 36.4% in Bulgaria, 38.4% in Greece and 29.8% in Kosovo in 2Q2024.
