Bank liquid assets as a share of short-term liabilities rose 12.4% yoy to 72.4% in China in 2Q2024, according to the National Central Bank. This is 5.41% more than in the previous quarter.
Historically, bank liquid assets as a share of short-term liabilities in China reached an all time high of 72.4% in 2Q2024 and an all time low of 46.2% in 2Q2015.
China has been ranked 17th within the group of 75 countries we follow in terms of bank liquid assets as a share of short-term liabilities, 17 places below the position seen 10 years ago.
