Bank Equity (As % of Bank Assets) rose 5.26% yoy to 12.3% in Macedonia in 2Q2024

Bank equity as a share of bank assets rose 5.26% yoy to 12.3% in Macedonia in 2Q2024, according to the National Central Bank. This is 4.67% less than in the previous quarter.

Historically, bank equity as a share of bank assets in Macedonia reached an all time high of 15.4% in 4Q2005 and an all time low of 9.82% in 4Q2017. When compared to Macedonia's main peers, bank equity as a share of bank assets in Albania amounted to 8.95%, 10.5% in Bulgaria, 7.96% in Greece and 10.6% in Kosovo in 2Q2024.

Macedonia has been ranked 17th within the group of 79 countries we follow in terms of bank equity as a share of bank assets, 18 places above the position seen 10 years ago.
