On the other hand, bank's customer deposit growth amounted to 25.8% at the end of 2016, up from -17.6% when compared to the previous year. Historically, the bank’s deposit growth reached an all time high of 104% in 1999 and an all time low of -28.9% in 2011. In the last decade, the average annual loan growth amounted to 11.0%.
At the end of 2016, Alpha Bank Romania's loans accounted for 131% of total deposits and 70.2% of total assets.
