Historically, alcoholic beverage consumption per capita in Vietnam reached an all time high of 51.0 litres in 2019 and an all time low of 1.78 litres in 1983. When compared to Vietnam's main peers, alcoholic beverage consumption per capita in Cambodia amounted to 59.6 litres, 35.2 litres in China, 12.7 litres in Laos and 38.8 litres in Thailand in 2021.
