Historically, alcoholic beverage consumption per capita in Switzerland reached an all time high of 137 litres in 1982 and an all time low of 85.1 litres in 2021. When compared to Switzerland's main peers, alcoholic beverage consumption per capita in Austria amounted to 140 litres, 87.9 litres in France, 118 litres in Germany and 75.8 litres in Italy in 2021.
