Historically, access to electricity as a share of population in Vietnam reached an all time high of 100% in 2020 and an all time low of 74.1% in 1990. When compared to Vietnam's main peers, access to electricity as a share of population in Cambodia amounted to 86.4%, 100% in China, 100% in Laos and 100% in Thailand in 2020.
Vietnam has been ranked 76th within the group of 177 countries we follow in terms of access to electricity as a share of population, 22 places above the position seen 10 years ago.
