On the other hand, bank's customer deposit growth amounted to 6.14% at the end of 2019, down from 12.1% when compared to the previous year. Historically, the bank’s deposit growth reached an all time high of 127% in 1998 and an all time low of -3.47% in 2002. In the last decade, the average annual loan growth amounted to 12.5%.
At the end of 2019, Bank Negara's loans accounted for 91.0% of total deposits and 66.1% of total assets.
